soapbox : take action

support the guardian campaign

They are not our property, we are not their owners. To transform our companion animals' social and moral status from property to living beings with their own needs and interests, use the term "guardian" rather than "owner," and "he/she" rather than "it", "pet" to "friend" or "companion animal", and "that" to a given name in ordinances, legislation, and in everyday language.

By teaching others to respect, protect and care for the non-human animals who depend on us, we pass on humane values to future generations. Guardians do not buy or sell animals; instead, they rescue and adopt. I urge you to do the same.
